Welcome to the Master Park website
Master Park - a Green Gem for the People of Oxted
Since 1923, when Charles Hoskins Master donated the park to the community, it has been a wonderful asset for Oxted and such a pleasant feature of the town centre for everyone to enjoy.
The Trust Deed gave the land for the recreation and amusement of local residents but it provided no finance, so the park has to raise its own funds from users, members of the public and other donors.
The park is a registered charity. It is not a local authority provided facility and does not come under the control of the County, District or Parish Council.
Management is undertaken by the members of Master Park Management Committee, who are all volunteer trustees.
The park’s facilities are well used. The football, cricket and tennis clubs are very active; the playground is extremely popular with young children; teenagers congregate on the grass; people walk their dogs; it is a centre for fairs, circuses and carnivals; and it is nice just to see as a feature of Oxted.

Residents, sports club members and local businesses all benefit from the park and obviously want to see it well kept. But maintenance costs are outstripping income. For example it costs £7,000 a year just to clear litter.
Are you a parent whose children enjoy the playground? It is due for extensive repairs.
